Call for Candidates

Board of Directors Vacancies

Pursuant to ORS 545.137(3), The Board of Directors of The Dalles Irrigation District (hereinafter “The Board”) hereby gives notice that there will be an election on November 10, 2026, to elect (2) Directors to The Board. Land owners within The Dalles Irrigation District are eligible to serve as Directors of The Board.

Board positions 1 and 5 are scheduled to become vacant on January 1, 2027. Land owners within The Dalles Irrigation District interested in becoming a candidate for a Board position may obtain a Petition at The Dalles Irrigation District office located at 3503 Olney Road, The Dalles, Oregon.

Completed Petitions must be filed with The Board’s Secretary at 3503 Olney Road, The Dalles, Oregon no later than 4:00 P.M. October 6, 2026.

Pursuant to ORS 545.137(4), if only one Petition is filed for each vacancy, the election will not be held, and those persons filing Petitions shall be granted certificates of election, with terms of office to begin January 1, 2027.

Mill Creek Pumping Plant Improvements

The TDID crew has been hard at work at our Mill Creek Pumping Plant along the Columbia River, completing projects that improve reliability and help reduce maintenance concerns.

Water Quality Reports

The Dalles Irrigation District performs monthly water quality testing during the pumping season to provide patrons with current water quality information. Since the irrigation water originates from the same source, the Columbia River, these results are representative of the water delivered across the district.

Start Up Reminder 2026

This is a reminder that District staff will begin filling reservoirs Monday morning, March 16, 2026.

TDID Shutdown date is October 15th 2025

The Dalles Irrigation District will begin draining our system on the morning of 10/15/2025.

Power Restored at TDID

TDID gets their power from a BPA substation on 10th St. This is what powers our whole district. BPA had a racoon get into the substation on the morning of 6/19/23. This caused damage to critical electrical equipment. Northern Wasco PUD, BPA and Wasco Electric all worked day and night to make the appropriate repairs. With their help we were able to have power restored and had water pumping by the next day. Thank you for all for your patience and we hope you have a great harvest.

Repair Complete at Pumping Plant D

Repairs have been made to our problem pump at pumping plant D. All lateral lines are now able to use 100% of their allowed GPM. Please stay within that limit to ensure everyone has the water they need. Thank you!
